Bidding: Default bidding system is SAYC. If Bridgehit discovers a matching system other than SAYC between your partner’s profile and yours, both of you can initiate a request to play the matching system (an invitation for this will appear).

During the first 2 rounds of bidding you will be supported by pop ups indicating the meaning of the bids by the convention cards.

All bidding should be done based on the convention cards (you can find them here). Psyches are not allowed and can be punished by a warning .

Play: by default it is not possible to play out of turn or a wrong card. You will be warned for this by hearing a short beep.

Claiming tricks: only the declarer can claim tricks

Warning: if you feel that your partner or opponents on the previously played board have not played according to the accepted standards or BridgeHit rules, you can give them a warning by pressing on the Warn button . The warned player will receive a real time notification.

Use your Warning sparingly and with good judgment as you have only 3 of them per week. Note that it is not necessary to spend all of your warnings. All warnings and praises count towards the Angel rating of a player.

Praise: you can also praise a partner or an opponent for their play on the previous board. Press the “Praise” button to do that .

Like in the case with Warnings, you have only 3 per week so do not throw them without a good reason. A praised player will receive a real time notification.

Pausing a session: you can pause a session by clicking on the Log out button . This will stop your play. You can log on at any time later and continue your session.

Stopping a session: if you decide to stop a session and start a new one you can do so only after 8 boards in a session have been played. You can do that by pressing the button “Start a new session”. Note that the boards from the unfinished session will not be counted towards your sessions score. They will count, however, towards your percentage and Angel score.
